This article is about whether or not online motivational training is possible. Traditional motivational training involves sending your employees out to a seminar where they spend days away from the workplace which is costly to send employees to and costs the company wages as well. The advantage of e-training in this instance is money. The organization would save tons of money as well as employees still being able to work if needed without having to be torn away from a seminar if there was a work related emergency or something else. The biggest questions that remain with the e-training method is whether or not it actually can be as effective as a face to face seminar would be.

I love the idea of motivational e-training! Personally, I've been through many "leadership" programs where a lot of emphasis was put on the interactions between others. But, who's to say that this can't be done over the internet? I really think that it can be done. However, the face-to-face aspect is important and, to me, is critical for building trust. I think with enough time and planning, this could be the same way for the online training!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I do not think this would be very effective. I personally am motivated by the way that a person presents a task or project to me so to not actually be able to feel emotion behind someones attempt to motivate me would be essentially useless to me but I assume that for some it may be effective.
