School Awarded for Achievements in E-Learning

A school in the UK has been awarded for outstanding achievements in e-learning for their efforts to help students with their subjects as well as parents. The article talks about how some students do better without a "teacher standing over their shoulders."

I personally think that is true for some people, I feel better if I can just do my work, study and do everything on my own time.

  1. I would say I am one of these learners. While I do enjoy to work at my pace, having e-learning learning tool that would essentially put a teacher right over a students' shoulder would be great. This will ensure that homework is effective and done more efficiently.

  2. I am so against this e-learning thing. It is fine to take one or two classes but the entire course online is insane.

  3. I think e-learning is a good idea for some people, it just depends on the type of person. When I think of e-learning, it is good for people who are far distance and busy on their own time. However as an e-learner, students may need a teacher or knowledge about using a computer. That's why its good now that, there is different ways now to do e-learning. You can either just use blackboard or moodle, or have a face time or video that you can actually see visually and listen.

  4. I am not sure that e-learning is very effective so I am not sure how I feel about awarding degrees and such to those who have only taken classes online. It seems that another person could simply earn the credit for a class for another person. Therefore, people would be qualified for certain tasks on paper but would not actually be able to perform them in a real life setting. Personally, I am just not a huge fan! Maybe a few classes but not the whole degree or certificate.
